A: Michigan State University requires all event workers and/or volunteers for campus to participate in a criminal background check process. All event workers and/or volunteers must undergo three types of background checks annually using: Michigan Internet Criminal History Access Tool (ICHAT), Michigan Department of Corrections (OTIS) and the National Sex Offender Public Website (NSOPW).
